On Mother’s trail The Sarojini Devi Memorial Library is over 10 days old to this day. Raised to the memory of my mother, a remarkable woman of grit and determination and one of the ablest educationists that I know of, she had been instrumental in embedding in me right from an early age, the virtues and strength of education. I had risen to the occasion, lived up to her expectations and finally found a career of my choice in the Foreign Service. That gave me an incredible exposure to around 75 countries, big and small that I visited, partly for professional reasons but mostly due to my wanderlust, of getting to know peoples, their cultures, languages, ways of life and philosophies, comparing them along the way with the immense diversities that are the toast of our land.
